We interviewed Michelle Paige Orsi, a fashion blogger from New York to get her insight on life as a petite woman.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am a 20 something New Yorker working in the TV industry by day & blogging in my free time. I am a beach bum, a huge ice hockey fan & a lover of all sweets & a good pair of shoes.
How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as part classic, part modern, always with a pop of color.
What do you love about being petite?
What’s not to love? Just because I’m short, doesn’t mean I’m not mighty!
Challenge of being a petite woman?
The challenges of being petite include finding pants that fit perfectly & reaching items on the top shelves of the closet.
What’s your getting dressed ritual?
Since I work full time, I have to be up and out of the house in the morning so I don’t have time to try on a bunch of outfits. I like to put together my look the night before including shoes, handbag & accessories.
What are your favourite brands/designers at the moment & why?
I love a range of different brands. Lately, I have been loving shopping at Zara, LOFT and American Eagle. Their collections for the season are fantastic & I find a new item that I love every time I visit a store. I also love Nordstrom since I know I can count on them to carry the latest trends & their customer service is unbeatable.
Which women are you currently inspired by?
I am inspired by other bloggers. I love seeing how real women put together real outfits! I follow a ton of bloggers of different ages, sizes & backgrounds & love seeing their personal style reflected in their posts.
What are your five essential wardrobe items?
My top five essentials include: a leather jacket, a white blouse, a dark wash of skinny jeans, a pair of pumps & a structured handbag. Wear them all together or separately and you are guaranteed to look timeless & put together.
